The trailer weight is 600 pound with a gross weight at 2345 allows it to carry 1745 payload. It is a model 17-2345 as seen on the original VIN and in the 1978 Calkins brochure. To meet current lighting regulations prior to the inspection, the trailer lighting was updated with additional clearance lights and reflectors. The trailer has current license good through Oct., 2018. This ID is hammered into the frame steel as well. With the original trailer VIN almost illegible, Washington state required an inspection assigning a new ID number tag to get license, registration and title work started. In Wisconson boat trailers this size do not have titles or license plates. The hubs are equipped with Bearing Buddy Greaseable Hub Caps. There is a new winch with strap, new tongue jack, and safety chains. The Wisconson owner had new wheel bearings installed and I have installed Bearing Buddy Stainless Steel Seal Kits as well. It comes with a near new spare tire mounted on the trailer. I could not locate an original fender replacement, so new fenders have been installed along with new tires (ST175/80r13-1320 pound capacity each). All original paint except the fenders which are new.Īlong the trip pulling the boat from Wisconson to Washington a tire blew out damaging one original fender. The frame is sound throughout with little to no surface rust. Its life has been fresh water only in the Wisconson/Lake Michigan area. This boat trailer was purchased with a boat from Wisconson.
